20 Years Experience
Chicago, IL
Male, 60
For twenty years I officiated high school, AAU and park district basketball games, retiring recently. For a few officiating is the focus of their occupation, while for most working as an umpire or basketball referee is an avocation. I started ref'ing to earn beer money during college, but it became a great way to stay connected to the best sports game in the universe. As a spinoff, I wrote a sports-thriller novel loosely based on my referee experiences titled, Advantage Disadvantage
If i understand the question, what happens when a defender legally pushes on the ball in opposte direction of the offensive player? Answer = held ball, go the possession arrow.
No.
As long as the refs believe it is a legitimate try, it is a shooting foul.
Only if one of them lifts a foot.
Correctional Officer
Were there a lot of suicides in your prison, and what's the most common way prisoners do it?
Magician
How do you feel about magicians on TV who reveal how tricks are done?
Sushi Chef
Is there THAT much difference in quality between the fish served at mid-range vs high-end places?
It is unsportsmanlike and it should void the free throw.
Not a violation, but it unsportsmanlike. The ref should shoo the player away.
There are 5 correctable errors related to free throws and none of them involve your situation. The ref made a mistake, but team b gets the ball.
